Hi! My name is Poppy and this is my little business: Tall Poppy - a play on the term "Tall Poppy Syndrome". I hope my swimwear makes you feel empowered to stand tall in your uniqueness, and not let anyone cut you down!...because let's face it, none of us were born to be the same as anyone else! Not only a play on words....my name is Poppy and I'm kind of tall, so that works as well ; )

I'm a Fashion Designer by trade and have worked as a designer in the surf/ fashion industry for over 15 years. I had always dreamed about starting my own label, and in 2015 I did.  The TallPoppy brand was created out of my personal desire for stylish looking and better fitting swimwear that was practical for me to surf in,....fast forward to now...and here I still am!, creating not only what I wished for, but creating for other like-minded women who desired a similar thing.

Combining vintage surf inspiration with sustainable technology, each style of mine is designed with quality, comfort and function in mind.

The lycra that I use is sustainably sourced and made in Italy using the latest yarn and knitting technologies. This lycra is made with 100% regenerated nylon and polyester fiber from post-consumer waste such as carpets, clothing and fishing nets.  It all starts with the @healthyseas initiative who collect the waste, which is then processed by @econylbrand who transform the waste into a super strong ethical yarn, which is then knitted into the lycra that I use.

This superior lycra is even more chlorine resistant than your average swimwear fabric and it's UPF 50+. Now you can't ask for much more than that, which makes TallPoppy a sustainable, ethical choice for the eco-fashion conscious.

I design, patternmake, grade and sew all styles from my home studio in Currumbin, on Yugambeh Country, aka Gold Coast, Australia.
